We strongly believe that Music is our passion not only our business.
Our story goes back to late 80’s when Faramarz Rafiei – just at his twenty – was encouraged by his friends and redirected his teenage day’s music enthusiasm and his Hi-Fi hobby to a more serious business approach.
The start was to rent a shop in the old traditional Tajrish bazaar in the northern shemiran district of Tehran while he was studying electronic and Electro acoustics. Soon the shop became a popular for music lovers to jam, listen and chat about the good Music and a reference point for the Hi-Fi and High-End equipment enthusiast as well, who were eager to find the best pre-revolution products available in Tehran which included McIntosh, Revox, Tandberg, Thorens, ESS .......
It was mid 90’s that Omid koochmeshki – a childhood friend – joined Faramarz and after purchasing a shop, the name Zir-O-Bam (High and Low in music tonality in Persian) was chosen for their shop. Their business grew fast and rapidly and it was expanded with setting up the Pro Audio division. Supplying and commissioning the first Pop music festival, sound system design for major concerts, design and installation of many prestigious Audio projects are a few to be mentioned here.
In 1999 Faramarz Rafiei joined the Harman Middle east as Product Manager in UAE to help setting up the business and managed the technical support for their brands like JBL, Infinity, Harman Kardon....... and distribution network throughout the Middle East and north Africa. Omid koochmeshki was handling the business in Iran with the close contact to Faramarz.
In 2003, with Faramarz return, Zir-O-Bam was established and registered in Iran Chamber of Commerce as private joint stock company and started its activity in the field of import, distribution and after sale support of highest quality Hi-Fi and Pro audio products available in the market.
Since then, some changes has acquired within the company with regards to the shareholders but the company still follows the same principal and passion with under Faramarz Rafiei’s management.
